Silvan Guitars was founded by Frank Schley IV to provide people with beautiful, comfortable, and great sounding guitars. Frank studied luthiery in Athens, Georgia under Scott Baxendale and got his professional start at Georgia Quarter Guitars, which is a partner of Silvan Guitars, specializing in electric instruments. Frank's extended family owns forestry land in Maine where he gets all of the maple for the Silvan instruments. Silvan, latin for "from trees," uses a variety of woods all individually sourced to provide great tone and unique character for each guitar. Each guitar is custom-built with the artist's needs, sound preferences, and personal story in mind. Silvan instruments have traveled all over the world and tell unique stories about each of their owners through the custom aesthetic design and superb sound.
